recorded as deserters from the Regiment in which they
served. There is more than a strong possibilty these men

in some cases they were treated worse than the convicts
John Pte 3471 77th 22yrs, 5'6", fresh complexion,
black hair, blue eyes; enlisted 8.8.1854 Ballymena,
weaver; born Moira Down; deserted at Sydney on 18.4.1858.
