Private Samuel HOWARD, ( After serving garrison duty in NSW he was sent to Bay of Islands, arriving 9^th Oct 1845 under command of Colonel Wynyard. I can tell you that he took his discharge in New Zealand 30 June 1855, also evidenced in the book ‘Discharged in New Zealand: Soldiers of the Imperial Foot Regiments who took their discharge in New Zealand 1840-1870” by Hugh Hughes.
