- James Hailey enlisted in the Royal Marines as a
member of the 55th Portsmouth Company,
- . James was stationed on board the "Alexander
"and on the 4th of May 1787 set sail for Australia.Following
his arrival he was detatched to Captain John Shea's
company. John recieved a grant of 160 acreas at Bankstown
. No further information has been found
