- Jesse Tuncliffe Haigh Colour Sergeant served with
the 99th from the years 1841 until 1856. He was stationed
in Hobart and in 1845/1846 fought in the NZ War. He
returned to England for discharge in 1856. He then came
back to VDL and was granted a parcel of land at
Shipwrights Point.
