All that is known at present of this soldier is he was a musician with the 14th  Regiment a memorial plaque is located at Anglesea Barracks, Hobart, Tasmania  which reads as follows.

To the
Memory
of
George CRANE
Late Coulor Serjant
(sic)
In his Majesty's 14 Regiment
Who departed this life
rejoicing in Christ
His redeemer.
The 22- Day of July 1853.
Aged 35 years.
