& Achievements :

- John Folly enlisted in the Royal Marines as a
member of the 47th Portsmouth Company
- was stationed on board the " Friendship
" and on the ship set sail for Australia. Upon his
arrival he was attached to Captain James Meredith's
Company. He worked as a stone mason to suppliment his
military wage . On March the 4th 1790 he was sent via the
ship "Supply" to Norfolk Island were he
eventually recieved a grant of 60 acres at Drummond's Run
. He was appointed Master Mason.
- On September the 7th 1793 he was appointed
Constable at Crestwell bay and Westpoint Stream's .John
finally left Norfolk Island on the 26th of December 1807
via the ship "Porpoise after becoming a first class
settler. He gained land at Queensborough Tasmania. John
died in Hobart Town aged 81
