    History & Achievements :

     
    Theophilus Fewtrell (later Feutrill, and often mistranslated as Fentrill and others).  Arrived Second Fleet (Neptune).  Served Norfolk Island, Sydney, Van Diemens Land, Parramatta, Ceylon.  Repatriated home sick, discharged as "worn out" at age 49.  Committed suicide in England about a year later.
    Theophilus and Jane moved to Tea Tree Gully, South Australia and became  some of the first settlers in the area. Records show Theo travelled to South Australia on the Socrates arriving on 10th January 1839. Jane listed as Mrs FENTRILL and daughter arrived in South Australia 3rd March 1839 from Launceston on the "Lady Emma"
     
    The S.A.Government Gazette July 14 1853 p.457 states that a Theophilus Feutril occupied a house and 1/2 acre of land owned by W.Reeds Snr..Section No 5513.
