    Edward settled in the Northern Midlands District of Tasmania, At a property Known as Mount Ireh, near the town of Longford in 1836 - the family remains their to this day.
    Before moving to Mount Ireh, Edward held several government positions in the 1820's including Surveyor General of Van Deimans Land ( a posting that was rejected by White Hall) and the colonies coroner
