History
& Achievements :
- Elijah said he was 17 when he joined the
regiment, (but more likely 19) and was described as being
5ft 6 inches tall. He served about 4 years in Norfolk
Island, transferring to/from Tasmania. After his
wife died, he and his surviving family crossed the Bass
Straight and he lived the remainder of his life in
Melbourne. His occupation given at the time of his death
was as a gardener.
