" KENNEDY, Donald and family Convict. Crime: Horse
Stealing. Tried: Sep 1790, Inverness, 7 years Donald was whipped
through the streets of Inverness for his crime and his papers were marked .. Never to return
Donald arrived as a member of the NSW Corp along with his wife Donald
was born 22 Nov 1756 at Inverness Scotland, his parents being
Alexander KENNEDY and Margaret CAMPBELL. There is no known record of
Donald Kennedy pardon 1801: Ann Kennedy, free, living in Sydney Donald
is listed as a discharged soldier on 30 Jun 1803 when he was granted
160 acres of land at Mulgrave Place
- On September 1824 Donald address a memorial to then
Governor Sir Thomas Brisbane (SRNSW Ref 535 Reel 1057). In which he stated
that he had been in the Colonies for 30 years, serving many years as a
soldier in the 102th Regiment and received his farm as payment for his
services.
- There was a Dan Kennedy who was discharged from the
NSW Corps on 24 Apr 1803, this may have been Donald Kennedy as early records
also gives his name as Daniel.

- When Governor Macquarie toured NSW in 1810, he
visited the Nepean District. During this visit he left his wife at Donald
Kennedy's Farm until his return. Thus it was Ann Kennedy's role to attend to
the Colony's First Lady.
- Donald died 9 Jun 1829, buried
St Patrick’s Cemetery North Parramatta
- Ann was the daughter of William GRANT and Ann McLEAN of
Inverness and was born 16 Aug 1771. She died 3 May 1827, buried St
Patrick’s Cemetery North Parramatta" ( 1 )
