Confirmed as returning to England
DARCY James, .Arrived with the Regiment on theBorrodino, arrived in Sydney in July, 1828? lived in Northwich in Cheshire, with his son John and family, until his death in 1877. His pension was 6p (a month, year or week?? for three years only) and clearly did not add greatly to his wealth or comfort. For whatever reason, his sons moved across the Pennines to Wakefield, where their descendants have lived until today. One of his great great great grandchildren, however, emigrated to Queensland (Nerang) Traced back to Moycullen, co Galway, thanks to his attestation papers. His parents were Peter and Mary Darcy (Toole) and he had 5 + brothers and sisters, and some descendants appear to be still living in the area.
