- Lieutenant Ralph Clark commisioned as a second
Lieutenant on the 25th of August 1779. He was not
- allowed to bring his wife and family with him on
the "friendship" when it sailed to New South
Wales. During his time he wrote a journal of the
times,this remains one of the most comprehensive personal
writings of the events in Sydney. Ralph was transferred
to Norfolk Island on the " Sirius" on the 4th
of March 1790. The "Sirius was wrecked and Ralph
lost most of his possesions.
