Achievements :
- Thomas Chipp enlisted in the Royal Marines as a
member of the 42nd Plymouth Company
- Thomas was stationed on board the "
Friendship " and on the set sail for Australia.
Following his arrival in Sydney he was part of Watkin
Tench's Company He was granted 60 acres of land at
Cascade Stream Phillipsburge Norfolk Island and sailed
there on the " Atlantic" 26th of October. He
and his family left Norfolk Island on board the
"Daedalus". Upon his return to Sydney Town in
November 1794 he enlisted in the Royal New South Wales
Regiment. Following this he shared in 200 acres at
Mulgrave Place and was then granted 600 acres. He
discharged in December of 1802, and was granted land of
100 acres at Bankstown. In 1810 he held a land grant at
Minto of 100 acres. He spent time as a Constable in
Sydney, a baker and a labourer ,dying in 1842
