- History &
Achievements :
- William Cable enlisted in the Royal Marines as a
member of the 33rd Portsmouth Company. Following his
- arrival in Sydney he was attached to Watkin
Tench's Company. Sent to Norfolk Island on board the
"Sirius" on March the 4th 1790 to work on his
land grant of 60 acres at Creswell Bay.William and his
partner Margaret Stewart both worked the grant until they
both left Norfolk Island to return to Port Jackson on
board the "Daedalus"in November of 1794
- No record of any land grant or occupancy has been
found , we can only speculate that he settled ,there is
no proof that he did.
