    History & Achievements :
    John Brown enlisted in the Royal Marines as a member of the 11th Portsmouth Company
    . John was stationed on board the " Scarbourgh " and on the set sail for Australia. Upon his arrival he was he used his skill as a stone cutter to earn extra pay . John sailed on the 5th of June 1789 to Norfolk Island on the ship "Supply". He began to farm his land grant at Phillipsburg of 60 acres. He was a troublesome farmer and was allowed to return to Port Jackson
    Upon his return to Sydney town in 1792 he enlisted in the Royal New South Wales Regiment. Following his discharge in 1797, he owned land at Mulgrave Place "160 acres", Branch, "95 acres" John died and was buried on his farm.
