- William Browning enlisted in the Royal Marines as
a member of the 51st Plymouth Company
- William was stationed on board the "
Friendship " and on the ship set sail for Australia.
Upon his arrival he was attached to Captain Shea's
Company. He used his skill as a sawyer to earn extra pay
. John sailed on the 4th of March 1790 to Norfolk Island
on the ship "Supply". He eventually disgcharged
and left for Sydney on board the ship " Atlantic
"
- Upon his return to Sydney town in 1794, he
enlisted in the Royal New South Wales Regiment. Following
his discharge in 1799, he owned land at Toongabbie "160
acres", he rented 50 acres at Seven Hills
