    History & Achievements :
Very little is known about Private James Brindley He arrived in Tasmania on 26/8/1826 as a member of Number 3 Company Royal Veterans of Tasmania ( 1826 - 1833) on the ship " John Barry"

James Brindley’s wife’s middle name is Ann as there is a marriage for Mary Ann Brindley to a James Roberts in Hobart 1848 (Mary Roberts is listed as the grandmother of Harriet Matilda Perkins (Charlotte Brindley’s daughter)  born 1 May 1850 registered in Hobart 1851).
In the Mercury 24th June 1899 for the 50th Wedding Anniversary for Thomas Perkins and Charlotte Brindley it says Charlotte the only daughter of the late James Brindley of Kangaroo Valley.

James Brindley went to Sydney (by himself and possibly for work with intentions of returning) NSW 26 Feb 1846 on the Saphire and died in Sydney the next year 1847 as NSW BD&M have a death of James Brindley  denomination: Church of England.  parish: St Laurence's Sydney. buried in the Sydney Burial Ground which is now Sydney Central Station and I am currently trying to find out if his remains are under the station or were one of the ones relocated.
