26/8/1826 as a member of Number 3
Company Royal Veterans of Tasmania ( 1826 - 1833) on the
ship " John Barry"

- James Brindley’s wife’s middle name is Ann as there is a marriage for
Mary Ann Brindley to a James Roberts in Hobart 1848 (Mary Roberts is listed
as the grandmother of Harriet Matilda Perkins (Charlotte Brindley’s
daughter) born 1 May 1850 registered in Hobart 1851).
- In the Mercury 24th June 1899 for
the 50th Wedding Anniversary for Thomas Perkins and Charlotte
Brindley it says Charlotte the only daughter of the late James Brindley of
Kangaroo Valley.

James Brindley went to Sydney (by himself and possibly for
work with intentions of returning) NSW 26 Feb 1846 on the Saphire and died
in Sydney the next year 1847 as NSW BD&M have a death of James Brindley
denomination: Church of England. parish: St Laurence's Sydney. buried in
the Sydney Burial Ground which is now Sydney Central Station and I am
currently trying to find out if his remains are under the station or were
one of the ones relocated.

#623. James Brindley, abode- Benevolent Asylum, Died 25 August, Buried 27
August, Age 55 yrs, Profession Soldier, Minister I L Galyll(?) very hard
to decipher name of minister.
The Benevolent Asylum was apparently between
Christ Church and the cemetery.
