- Marine Private Thomas Bishop enlisted in
the 21st Portsmouth Company of the Royal Marines. Following
-
arrival in Port Jackson he was attached to Captain James
Campbell's Company. In October of 1791 he sailed for Norfolk Island
on board the ship" Atlantic". He settled on 60 acres at
Grenville Vale. On the 9th of March 1793 he sailed to Port Jackson
on board the ship " Kitty" Upon his arrival he received a
grant of 110 acres at Hen and Chicken Bay .

Thomas did not re-join the Royal New South Wales Regiment as
many others had.
