Apparently deserted several times in England and given choice "death or colonies" Joined 73rd Reg 1810 Invalid or Veterans Coy 3/1810 References (websites) Society of Aust Genealogists 1798 and 1812 Pay Lists Colonial Secretaries Index 1788-1825   Met eventual wife Catherine Owens on Surprize, convict life sentence.  Fathered a daughter Married Catherine 3/1810 after she received Ticket of Freedom 1/1810.
