    After their marriage James and Sarah lived for a time in Sussex Street, Sydney. James was employed as an overseer of works in the dept of Works and Mineral Surveyor, he was a carpenter. They had a daughter Martha in 1833, Caroline 1835-1837 & another Rose Hannah in 1838. Around this time they moved onto Goulburn, then on to Melbourne, living in Stanley St Collingwood .Here they had Emma in 1840, Eve in 1843, Celia in 1846 at Pt Fairy.Then back in Melbourne they had Adam in 1848, and James was born in 1852 in Collingwood.
    In the early 1870s James and Sarah moved again north to Albury, NSW. They settled on a 40acre block at Bungowannah, just south of Albury.  Not long after arriving James fell ill with heart problems and was moved to hospital in Albury where he died on 29th August,1874.
    Sometime after Sarah re-married John Shell.  She died November, 1900 and is buried in Albury Cemetery with James and their daughter Martha’s son Alex Everett
