History &
Achievements :
Lieutenant Ball disappeared from Sydney about December
of 1833 leaving his wife and daughter behind. At the same time a
convict William Nixon Wright also absconded. Their last sighting
was in the Sandwich Islands en-route to America. William was from
a very wealthy family known as Wrights of Gola while William Ball
was from a wealthy family in Glocestershire. Lieutenant Ball made
it back to Nova Scotia where he died in 1843.
