    History & Achievements :

I believe he enlisted in the Royal Engineers about 1850 and served twenty years mostly in Victoria, about 1870 he and his family left Victoria for Christchurch New Zealand. He was married 1855 Sydney NSW and was in Victoria 1856 for the birth of his first child at Ballarat, his first wife died and he married again in 1857, three more children were born in Victoria before the shift to New Zealand. His cousin also named Thomas was a goldminer in Victoria and left Melbourne 1870 for the same destination. This is about as much as I know I have looked at some ship manifests around 1850 but have come up with nothing so far
