- Sergeant Richard Allen
arrived as a solider of the 48th Regiment on board the
ship "Matilda". He would
- have formed part of a troop
that arrived well before the main contingent in 1815. In
August of 1824 he was committed for trial in New South
Wales for robbing the Australia Company . For this he was
sentenced to 7 years transportation. Transported from
Sydney on board the ship "Amity" to Port
Macquarie where he died 3 years later.
