2nd Somersetshire on second tour of duty The
first name varies according to the documents scrutinised.
He would have been about 16 years of age on
arrival In 1862 he married at St Georges
Battery Point HOBART one Mary Jane HICKS where the first
of six children was born in 1863. His occupation at the
time was given as coachman. In 1866 he a Sydney hotel
keeper and was then living in Newcastle NSW 2
years later when Mary Jane's younger sister was married
there. He then moved to Brisbane where he seled and
worked variuosly as
labourer,nightwatchmanand plumber, He died
there in 1916.
