    History & Achievements :
      Awarded the New Zealand War Medal 1863-1964, discharged on the 13th May 1864. He settled in Tasmania, married a Mary Johnstone in 1859 8th November, went on to have several children one . I believe George went to Ireland with the Regiment in early 1850ís when only very young, supposedly born c1834 in London according to records from his marriage certificate.  He became a  Constable in Hobart, but after that there no records to be located re his death or leaving the colony. His wife Mary died in 1871 in Hobart..

    When he came to Tasmania in the 1854/55 period he had a son named Edward who died in 1861 aged 7 years in the Gordon District of Tasmania.
