- History &
Achievements :
- His regiment went to England & he was sent as a
soldier guarding convicts to Australia in 1842 on the ship Marquis of
Hastings. He left Spithead
on 18.7.1842 with his regiment guarding convicts who were taken from the
hulks for transportation to Australia
- He was in Sydney and then was sent to
Newcastle to
guard convicts who were building the great north road
- In 1848 he was sent to Norfolk Island where he
remained for 3 months working in administration.
- Arthur ALLEN lived in Sydney but went to Old
Adminaby c. 1889 where he lived with one of his
daughters
