The
first detachment left Gravesend for Dublin in 1837 on
board the " Neptune "sailing for Tasmania. From
Tasmania several detachments sailed for Western Australia
, Swan River and King George Town. More divisions of the
Regiment sailed on the " Runnymede " in 1839
The Regiment left in 1846 to serve to Bengal.
