Richard was listed as the relative in the colony on shipping records for my 2xgreat grandmother who arrived in Braidwood in 1864. She had travelled with her uncle Thomas Hobbs and his young family. Richard Smith was an uncle of Thomas and great uncle to my gg grandmother, Sarah Smart.  He is referred to as publican of the Sun Rise Inn Mongarlowe nr Braidwood NSW 1864
Thomas Hobbs and his family came from Manton Wiltshire which is just near Pershute and he is the son of Richardís sister Jane and her husband William Hobbs.
