Know all men by these presents that I John Whitaker of
Bottesford in the The present Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish and Town aforesaid in the full and just Sum of forty Pounds of good and lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid to the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor Either or any of them their either or any of their Successors Executors Administrators or Assigns for which Payment well and truly to be made I bind myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these presents Sealed with my Seal Dated this Twenty fourth Day of November in the Thirty first Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord king George the second and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Fifty Eight. The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above boundon John Whitaker his Heirs Executors or Administrators do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and clearly Exonerate acquit and discharge or otherwise well and sufficiently save harmless and keep indemnified as well the abovenamed Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor and their Successors for the time being as also all other the Inhabitants and Parishoners of the Town and Parish of Bottesford above mentioned now and for the time being Every or any of them of and from all and all manners of Costs Charges Damages or Expences and Demands whatsoever which shall or may at any time or times hereafter happen arise fall or be imposed upon them Either or any of them for or by Reason or Means of a Bastard Child which Sarah Maltby ---- Singlewoman is now pregnant with within the said Town and parish of Bottesford or for or by Reason or Means of the Maintenance Education and providing for the said Child and of any and from all other Costs Charges Damages Expences and Demands whatsoever touching or Concerning the Promisses aforesaid Then this present Obligation to be void and of no Effect or Else to be and remain in full Force Power and Virtue.
