KNOW all men by these Presents we Edward Guy the Elder of Easthorp in the Parish of Bottesford in the County
of Leicester Farmer. – and Edward Guy the younger of Easthorp
a fore Said Servant.- Are held and firmly bound to Mark Sansam
&. John Stafford of Bottesford in the County of Leicester farmers And
Churchwardens of the Church and Parish of Bottesford a fore said and David
Swan & William Dadsley of the Parish of Bottesford a fore Said farmers
And overseers of the Poor of the Said Parish of Bottesford in the Sum of
fifty Pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid to the Said Mark
Sansam & John Stafford & David Swan and William Dadsley or Either or
any of them their Successors or Assigns Churchwardens and overseers of the
Poor of the Said Parish of Bottesford – Or their Certain Attorneys To which
Payment well and truly to be made- we bind Our Selves and Each of us by
himself for the whole And Every Part there of our and Each of our heirs
Executors and ~~~ administrators firmly by these Presents Sealed with our
Seals – Dated this Ninth day of November In the Twenty fourth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great
Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and Soforth- And in the
Year of Our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty – Whereas Alice Trolley
of Bottesford afore Said Singlewoman hath been Lately Delivered of a female
Bastard Child And Whereas Edward Guy the younger Son of the above boundon Edward Guy the
Elder is the Real and true father thereof-And Whereas the Said Edward Guy the
Elder and the Said Edward Guy the Younger are bound in order to Indemnify
& Save ~~~ Harmless the Said Parish of Bottesford and all and Every the
Inhabitants there of – of from & against all Costs Charges Damages and Expences for or by reason or means or upon account of the
Said Child of which the Said Alice Trolley Hath been Lately so delivered as
afore Said – have aGreed To Pay to the Said Mark Sansam John Stafford David Swan William Dadsley their
Successors and assigns Churchwardens And overseers of the Poor of the Said Parish
of Bottesford for the time Being Two Shillings and Two Pence of Lawfull money of Great Britain on the Second Friday In
Every Calendar month for and During the full time and Term of Seven Years- To
begin and Commence from the day of the date of these Presents for the
maintenance Support and the Bringing up of the Said Bastard Child of which
the Said Alice Trolley hath been So Lately delivered as afore Said- Or to pay
the Said Sum of two Shillings & Twopence on the
Second Friday in Every Calendar month for and during So much and Such Part of
the Said term of Seven Years as Such a Bastard Child Shall happen to Live Now
the Condition of the above written obligation is Such that if the above
Boundon- Edward Guy the Elder and Edward Guy the Younger- or Either of
them-their or Either of Their Heirs Executors or Administrators Shall and do
well and truly Pay or Cause to be Paid unto the Said Mark Sansam
John Stafford & David Swan –William Dadsley or Either or any of them
Their Successors or assigns Churchwardens and overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Bottesford a fore said for the time Being- the full and just Sum of
Two shillings and Twopence on the Second Friday in
Every Calendar Month, for and during The full time and term of Seven Years to
Commence and Begin from the day of the date hereof or for and during So much
and Such Part of the Said term of Seven Years as The Said female Bastard
Child Shall so Long happen to Live- Then the above written Obligation to be
void and of none Effect But if default Shall happen to be made in Payment of
all or any Part of the Said Several and respective Days or times above Limitted for Payment thereof Contrary to the true Intent
and Meaning of these Presents That then and on Every or any Such Default the
Said above written obligation Shall Stand and be In full force and virtue - -
