Dr. Anotine F. Saugrain drawn by Laura Grolla (2008)

Dr. Saugrain's photo is drawn in 2008 by Laura Grolla from the oil portrait, painted from life and contributed to Elizabeth Russell by Mr. J. Harold Pettus for her book, "Persimmon Hill" which was published in 1948. The same portrait appears in Dandridge's "The First Scientist of the Mississippi," Louis Houck's "History of Missouri from the Earliest Explorations and Settlements Until the Admission of the State Into the Union," as well as other publications associated with the doctor. The original minature of Genevieve is believed to be on file at the archives of the Missouri Historical Society.
