LLOYD RICKART TO WED - MISS REBECCA TEBBETTS WILL BECOME BRIDE

ST. LOUIS, MO | May 24, 1909
The Browns on their coming Eastern trip will be chaperoned by a bridal couple. Lloyd Rickart, the popular secretary and general factotum for President Robert Lee Hedges, has decided to become a benedict.

Rickart will be married to Miss Rebecca Tebbetts, daughter of L.B. Tebbetts, an implement dealer, next Tuesday evening. The ceremony will be solemnized at the Third Baptist Church.

Miss Tebbetts, who lives in the Colchester Apartments, was granted a divorce last March from Thomas A. Moore, a Chicago lumber man, by Judge Williams. Moore did not contest the suit.

Mrs. Rickart obtained a divorce from the Brown's secretary last year. he offered no contest. While the Browns are on the road Rickart has charge of the team's financial and business arrangements.

LLOYD RICKART TO AGAIN MAKE SLIDE FOR HOME-PLATE

ST. LOUIS POST DISPATCH | May 26, 1909

Cupid has captured Lloyd Rickart's goat.

But Rickart, who is secretary and treasurer of the Brown's baseball team, doesn't care. He is going to try to save the game by making a second slide for home.

Once before he landed on home plate, but a judicial umpire called him out. That was when his first wife obtained a divorce a year ago. Since then he has been out of the matrimonial pennant race.

Miss Rebecca Tebbetts, daughter of L.B. Tebbetts of 12 North King's Highway, will be on the coaching line when Rickart rejoins the Benedicts.

She also obtained a divorce less than a year ago up to which time she was the wife of Thomas A. Moore of Chicago. Her allegation was desertion. Judge Williams withheld his decision until he could determine whether there was collusion between Mr. and Mrs. Moore, and after an investigation, he granted a decree to the wife and restored her maiden name.

Friends of Rickart have heard that the wedding is to be Thursday night, but he says that it will be next Tuesday night at the Third Baptist Church.

Nevertheless, many St. Louis fans who know Mr. Rickart personally are keeping a close watch on him because they suspect that an effort will be made to have the ceremony performed when nobody is looking.

The new Mrs. Rickart-to-be will accompany her husband when he goes East with the Browns next Tuesday night.
