Feltham . . .The town of Feltham in Middlesex, situated to the west of London, originated as the Saxon 'feld(felled/clearing)-ham(home/settlement)' some 300 years before the Normans, in woodlands south of the Roman road to Staines. It was declared an Urban District in 1903 and in 1930 was extended by adding the adjoining Parishes of East Bedfont and Hanworth. 1965 saw the demise of Middlesex as a county, and Feltham was absorbed into the London Borough of Hounslow.
Since 1985, local Calendars have been produced illustrated with historic scenes of the area, so that newcomers and visitors could see life as it used to be. So often such interesting pictures vanish without trace, but now you can view them
