Brookfield, MA. - July, 1778: Convicted of murdering her husband, Joshua Spooner ¤, beautiful Bathsheba was sentenced to hang. Her appeal for a stay due to pregnancy, was denied despite testimony of court appointed examiners that she was "quick with child". After her hanging, an autopsy showed that she had indeed been pregnant with with a five month old fetus.
