Plympton
Township
Kertch
Burying Grounds

I found the cemetery in the "Plympton Township's Rural
Cemeteries" by Eleanor Nielsen. Apparently it is also known as Kertch Burying
Grounds. East side of Lot twenty-one , Cons. four, Township of Plympton, County
of Lambton, Ont. Not knowing the area we had quite a job finding it. The only
other pictures I took were of my gggrandfather's gravestone. John Dobbin died
1877. His son John died 1901. Our family history by Elizabeth Bullick said
"their daughter Eliza had a neat fence and gate erected around the plot.
Nieces and Nephews cared for the plot after her death until perpetual care was
organized. To facilitate the cleaning the fence had to be removed. New
foundations were put under the tombstones. The brick church has since been
dismantled and the land returned to the adjoining farm, but the little cemetery
remains."
