Why is your web-site so, well, plain?
I aim for the lowest common denominator in this site. Specifically, I have friends in foreign
countries who do not have computers or connections to the Internet which are as fast as mine.
I want to make this site easy and quick for them to use; therefore, I skip graphics and other
visual effects which would make a web-page load slower.
Additionally, I view myself mainly as a data collector. I wish to spend my time gathering as
much data as I can and present it for others to use. Creating more sexy web-pages slows
that effort.
