This polaroid print is in pretty bad shape and the scroll they are holding is completely over-exposed, but luckily this story in the Atikokan Progress reveals all. They were presented with this scroll plus a new automobile on the occasion of their leaving Atikokan in April, 1956. See the Progress story for more details as well as the wording of the scroll.
Come to think of it, this print is probably a reject from the Progress. Since I worked part time there after school, I probably rescued it. I was a fan of his -- Jack Ayres was one of the greatest people you would ever want to meet.
