Well.... Almost.

We started at the red star

About an hour before we left the house to begin our trip, a huge boulder rolled down onto the northbound lanes of I-5 just south of Solana Beach.  Traffic was a mess for hours on I-5 and I-805.  So we went up I-15 to Escondido; then over to I-5 at Carlsbad on Highway 78 (not labeled on the map).

When we left Seattle to head east on I-90 we had to travel a short distance on I-5.  It had been raining, and I-5 was a parking lot.  We got lucky.  Our on ramp to I-5 feeds the exit to I-90.

About 50 miles down I-90 traffic came to a halt for about half an hour.  I never did find out why.

We traveled several sections of freeways that were being repaved, but that did not delay us significantly.
