With Spokane, WA being one of the cities we would be going through I had hoped we would have a chance to visit with one of the people I e-mail very often.  I forgot to bring the hard copy of the message with her phone number on it.  I had someone in Woodburn contact her and get the number.

     We arrived in Spokane at 3:45 P.M. August 19, 2000 and I turned on my cell phone; "No Service".  I was about to turn the phone off when it came to life.  I went through the phone book memory and punched up the number given to me in Woodburn.  I got an answering machine, left a message and we went to find a motel.

     The following day we left Spokane and headed for Missoula on I-90.  A few minutes later my cell phone rang.  It was a man in Louisiana returning my call!  The area code for Spokane is 509, and some how I had called 504.

     As it turned out the person I had wanted to visit was out of town, but I did make a new friend.
