Cotton weaving mill built between 1833 and 1848

Eaves Bottom Mills, Hebden Bridge
Aka Silk Mill, Nutclough Estate. Site of cotton and silk manufacturing, dyeing and finishing at the foot of the Colden valley.

Owners and tenants have included Binns Brothers.

The 2 six-storey mills and land were subsequently taken over by the Eaves Self-Help Manufacturers' Society.

The mill stood empty for some time and was put up for auction in 1916 but not sold.

The site was demolished soon after 1919 for the construction of Eaves Housing Estate

Edge Mill, Heptonstall
Aka Salt Pie Mill, Heptonstall

Edmondson's Mill, Mytholmroyd
A water-power worsted mill built in 1792 on the Calder by Walker & Edmondson. By 1833, it was steam-powered. The mill had a bad child labour record.

It stood opposite Mytholmroyd Church.

It later became the Empress Laundry

Stood between the Calder and the Calder & Hebble Navigation just west of Elland Bridge.

The original foundry was demolished in 1979 and a new factory built on the site.

Elland Mill
Aka Elland Corn Mill. Stood near Elland Bridge. It was originally a corn mill. There were fires at the mill on 12th October 1876 and 31st October 1904.

Ellen Holme Road. Ellen Holme Bridge, Luddendenfoot was built to give access to the mills when the Rochdale Canal was built.

Mill on the Black Brook

In 26th May 1864, when the mill burned down, it was described as

30 or 40 yards long, 5 storeys high. 3 storeys were added some time ago to the original 2 storeys.

In 1853, 12-year-old John Hanson died in an accident at the mill.

On 25th November 1888, there was a serious fire at the mill.

The mill is being demolished [October 2014].

Aka Malt Kiln Mill. Cotton mill. Recorded in 1800.

Built in 18??.

A sign records that the mill was rebuilt in 1877.

In 19??, the mill was occupied by James MacAlistair King, trading as J. Mac A. King and Company Limited, the first foam-plastic converter in the UK.

The mill was converted into flats in 2001

Built by Jonathan Slater on the site of old cinder ovens.

It is said to be the second oldest mill in Elland, and the first large mill.

A sandstone quarry is recorded at Elland Wood Bottom, just west of Elland Old Hall [1855].

It was used as a firing range by Elland Rifle Club.

When Elland bypass was constructed, the Quarry was filled-in with waste from the road works
