In 1927, a bond issue passed in the city of Hamilton allocating money for the construction of two junior high schools.  The first school to be built was Roosevelt Junior High in Hamilton's fourth ward which opened in 1931.  The second was Wilson Junior High, located on the West Side of Hamilton.  The building was situated on thirty acres of land and was ready for students in the fall of 1934.
