The Macedonia Christian Church was founded around the
year 1840 by Gershom Rude. Rude made occasional visits to Morgan
Township/Okeana, preaching in the District 4 school.
In 1850 land was purchased and a frame building was constructed. The name of the congregation at that time was the California Christian Church. In 1896 a brick church was built in a new location. The location of the old frame church was used as the Macedonia cemetery in later years. |
