"There's Lots of Fun in Hamilton" proclaimed a song written in 1924 by John Dowling and dedicated to Hamilton's Rialto Theatre. The tune exclaimed the greatness of the city: "Not so far from the wicked city/ Not so small and it's very pretty/ Come and see then you'll agree/ That it's just the place to raise a family." |
| Having "fun in Hamilton" took on many forms. Three of the most popular recreation spots were the YMCA, YWCA, and Fenmont Center (built by St. Stephen Church). Others frequented the Hamilton Country Club or one of the many city parks. |
