Safemaking
By 1910, Hamilton could rightly declare itself the "safe capitol
of the world." Its two safe manufacturers, Mosler and Herring-Hall-Marvin
produced more than 80% of the safes used throughout the world. A third
safe company, Macneale and Urban, began operating in Hamilton in 1889 but
had ceased operations by that time.

Brewing
Home to many German immigrants, numerous breweries established themselves
in Hamilton. The most notable of these were the Cincinnati Brewing
Company and the Martin Mason Company. Prohibition brought an end
to the breweries which had been active in Hamilton.
