Congregational Church, Shandon
The Congregational Church at Shandon was organized on September 2, 1803.  The church was incorporated as the Whitewater Congregational Church and drew its membership from Morgan and Ross Townships in Butler County and Whitewater and Crosby Townships in Hamilton County.

For twenty-five years the congregation worshipped in various log cabins and groves until a church building was completed in 1825.  The building was soon inadequate and a new house of worship was dedicated in 1855.
