This is the story we have in our family. I have never said anything to
the group because I have no proof. I have the book "Wild Rose of the
Cherokees ... or Nancy Ward, the Pocahontas of the West" by E. Sterling
King that tells about Nancy's life. Nancy was married to Sir Francis
Ward. The book is a beautiful love story that has a surprise ending. I
found the book through the Genealogical Helper. I'll look up the address
and send it later if anyone is interested.
