8.  Butler BURRELL was born in 1795 in SC.  He died in 1834.

 

He was married to Ruth KING (daughter of Samuel  KING JR and Mary Polly Ashe KELLY).  Ruth KING was born in 1795.  She died before 1855.  Butler BURRELL and Ruth KING had the following children:

9.  Bright BURRELL was born in 1797 in SC.  He appeared on the census in 1820 in Buncombe County, NC, pg. 37: 1011-1001.  He appeared on the census in 1830 in Macon County, NC, pg. 13:  001001-220001-00.  He appeared on the census in 1840 in Union County, GA:  1 male 40-50, 2 males 5-10, 1 male under 5, 1 female 40-50, 1 female 15-20.  He appeared on the census in 1850 in Union County, GA:  Bright 70,

Elender 65.  He died on OCT 20 1860. 

 

He was married to Elender CENTER (daughter of Abner CENTER and Ellender PREWITT).  Elender CENTER was born in 1798.  She died in 1866.  Bright BURRELL and Elender CENTER had the following children:

        30            viii.   Miles BURRELL was born about 1835.

10.  Jessee William BURRELL SR was born about 1805 in Spartanburg, SC.  He appeared on the census in 1830 in Macon County, NC, pg. 13: 20001-100100: 1 male 20-30, 2 males under 5, 1 female 15-20, 1 female under 5.  He appeared on the census in 1840 in Union County, GA:  1 male 30-40, 2 males 10-15, 2 males 5-10, 1 female 30-40, 2 females under 5.  He appeared on the census in 1850 in Union County, GA, Ellijay, pg. 280, house #1087, Jesse 45, Mourning 40, Timothy 23, Simpson 18, Spencer 16, Mary 13, Sarah 10, Julia 7, Jesse 6.  He appeared on the census in 1860 in Gilmer County, GA, pg. 135, house #932, Jessee Burrell 58, farmer 1200/200, Mourning 51, Timothy 36, Jessee 16. 

 

He died about 1868 in Gilmer County, GA.  He was a neighbor of Andrew Brown in 1830 Buncombe County, NC.  He is listed in the Tax Digest, Gilmer Co., GA in 1868 Lot  #301 and #115, 320 acres dist.  #932 Cartacay.  He was sold land in Rabun Co., GA 9/16/1854 recorded in Gilmer Co., GA.  He surrendered 200 acres for taxes in Gloster settlement, near French Broad River.  He was buried in Southern/Burrell Family Cemetery, GA.  He was a farmer in Union County, GA.

He was married to Mourning BROWN (daughter of Andrew BROWN and Sarah REID\REED) about 1825 in Haywood County, NC.  Mourning BROWN was born about 1810 in Buncombe County, NC.  She appeared on the census in 1870 in Gilmer County, GA, Ellijay house #64

She died before AUG 25 1876 in Gilmer County, GA.  She was listed in the Tax Digest Gilmer Co., GA 1869, Lot #297 and #280, 170 acres dist. #932 Cartacay.  She was buried in Southern/Burrell Family Cemetery, GA.  Her headstone reads: Mournin Brown 1/2 Cherokee Indian wife of Jessee W. Burrell, Sr. 1810 Buncombe Co., NC btw 24 Aug 1875/1876.  Several sources as well as census records have her as deaf.  Jessee William BURRELL SR and Mourning BROWN had the following children:

He was married to Hulda DENTON (daughter of Samuel DENTON JR and Elizabeth CHASTAIN) in 1824 in Buncombe County, NC. Hulda DENTON was born on AUG 2 1805 in Pendleton District, SC.  She died on MAY 5 1898 in Rabun County, GA.  She was buried in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Rabun County, Satolah, GA.  Mark BURRELL and Hulda DENTON had the following children:
