The Bowen family web was started as a photo album, simply a place for my nieces and nephews to have a spot where they could come to see photos of themselves, their cousins and of course me! Over time it grew mainly into a genealogical & family history site, but with the kind people at rootswebs' help, by donating free space, we are once again focusing on photos & documents to save for future generations.

There are two main areas in this Album & Archive, one for more recent photos and documents relating to my immediate family(The Photos) and an area where any Bowen's family related photos, documents or materials can be placed to store and reference for histories sake (The Archives).
In addition to these two main areas we have made a space for creative works.

This Album & Archive is intended for personal enjoyment, learning & research into the Bowen family history. Please respect the wishes of the contributors by using these materials in this archive for only these reasons, therefore the downloading & copying of any materials for commercial use is strictly prohibited.

Thanks for using the Bowen family web's Photo Album & Document Archive!

How to contribute to the Bowen family web Archives:

Materials for the Bowen family webs archives may be photos, copies of documents such as death certificates, wills, papers such as letters, recipies, census reports or deeds, bible records, military records Etc. transcriptions of materials are also encouraged as long as the source of the original material is included as well as the name of the transcriber and contact info. Any materials from genealogical sites such as USGENweb or Rootsweb etc, must contain their copyrite notices and follow the restrictions of their services. if you believe that there are any violations on this page please e-mail Ben Bowen for investigation.

The Intention of the Bowen family web is the FREE passing on of Bowen family history and information, anyone wishing to use the information on this site with this intention is invited to do so as long as the original source/author is credited for their work.Certain restrictions apply in the Creative section. None the less no materials here may be used in any way in compiled works for sale or profit, hower may be used on sites with banners or advertising again as long as the appropriate credits/ copywrite notices are carried along with it.

Materials such as photographs and images of documents should be in a .jpg (jpeg) or .gif format.. most photo developers offer these services as part of normal development proceduresas your photos can be placed on a cd rom or disc when they are developed..these files can be e-mailed to me.if you have old documents i can scan them in, i will accept clean copies(as best as possible) but do not want the original materials as i could not guarantee them in case of loss or damage. Some files may be reduced in size for easier viewing and faster download times, in which case the original file will also be preserved and can be viewed at the option of the viewer. There are certain files I can not receive over e-mail, hardware restrictions, software compatability and files sizes of certain materials are to large. In any case e-mail me with what you have and we will work it out where you can ftp or otherwise upload directly to the rootsweb directory.

Materials such as Gedcoms should be posted on sites that are specifically designed for that purpose, we will be pleased to link to such materials,If you have a site of photos & archives of your own simply send me the link and I will include that here also.

Thanks Again,
Ben Bowen.
