Nina Lee Lane Northington

Nina Lee Lane Northington, age 85 of Wharton,passed away Friday November 8, 2002 in Wharton after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 20, 1916 in Lane City, the daughter of the late Thomas William and Nina Dayvault Lane. She was a 1934 graduate of Wharton High School and attended Sam Houston State Teachers College and Texas Womens Institute in Denton. She married Dr. Harold M. Northington on Dec. 11, 1946 in Houston. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Womens Circle. She was also a member of Wharton Country Club, various bridge clubs, and the Ladies Auxiliary at Caney Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Northington was a life long resident of Wharton County, having lived in Lane City and Wharton.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Harold M. Northington of Wharton; daughter and sons in law, Ginger & Burt Hooten of San Antonio and Dr. Mike Connelly of Wharton; sons and daughters in law, Mac & Carla Northington of Boerne, Tom & Kathy Northington of Kerrville, and Guy & Cindy Northington of Houston; grandchildren, Tom & Kristan Northington, Mona & Perry George, McCann & Margye Northington, David Northington, Gene Hooten, Lane Hooten, Will Northington, Wes Northington, Ginny Northington, Stacey Connelly, Patrick Connelly and Mac Connelly; and 2 great grandchildren, Shelton Northington and Mac Northington. She is preceded in death by a daughter Gay Northington Connelly on May 12, 2001, three sisters Dorothy Lane, Helen Lane and Eloise Connoly, and a brother Col. Tom Lane.

Interment will follow at the Northington's Family Cemetery in Egypt.

Following services, family and friends are invited for a time of fellowship and refreshment at Anita Northington's home in Egypt.
