Loudie Taylor Huebner

From Wharton Spectator October 1914 Mrs. Loudie Taylor Huebner, who passed into the great beyond on the 4th day of this month, was born June 10, 1851, and was sister of W.T., S.T., M.D., and Z.A. Taylor, all of this county. As a girl she made her home with W.T. and S.T. Taylor at Don Tol, and was married to Mr. Huebner thirty-six years ago at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. S.T. Taylor. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Walter Brown, M.T. Dudley and Ada Huebner, all of whom live at Bay City, and Mrs. H.J. Hawk, who lives at Valley Falls, Kansas. All were present at the time of her death except the last one named.

Mrs. Huebner was taken ill Monday night and on Thursday Dr. Ruess of Cuero was called. Upon his arrival she was removed from her home to the hospital in Bay City, and an operation was performed by Dr. Ruess, assisted by Drs. Morton, Jones and Foote of Bay City, but it was to late, blood poisoning having already set in, and she expired four hours after the operation. The funeral was held at Bay City, and services were conducted by Revv. Selfridge of the Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev Carr of the Methodist. Among those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Riche, Mr. George Huebner and Miss Helen Huebner of LaGrange; Mr. and Mrs. C.D.Kemp of Wharton; S.T. Taylor, Mrs. Bencke, Brooks, Gary, M. D. Taylor and family of Iago.

The funeral was one of the largest ever witnessed in Bay City and evidenced the high esteem and regard in which deceased was held.
